Registration

Advance registration for Greyhounds Reach the Beach® is now closed!  Please register at the event at the Sleep Inn-Lewes, 18451 Coastal Highway, Lewes, DE.     Registration opens 11AM Thursday, Oct. 5.

Registration for Greyhounds Reach the Beach® costs $20 per person and is critical to the event's success.  Registration allows the attendee to hear top name speakers on various topics and numerous seminars held throughout the weekend.  We also provide the opportunity to register your dogs for  Dewey Beach dog licenses* for your dogs without additional cost.  We provide all this and more for one small registration fee.

Registration helps pay the costs of staging a large, complex event, paying for facility rentals, cleaning fees, tent rentals, speakers' costs, and liability insurance, just to name a few of the costs.  If you think that these events just happen or that they don't have significant costs, you would be incorrect.

Any balance left over after costs goes to 501(c)3 greyhound adoption groups or organizations.   The company behind the management of this event is The Grapehound Wine Tour, Inc., a Delaware registered, IRS approved 501(c)(3) corporation established for the benefit of greyhounds and other sighthounds.  We have donated tens of thousands of dollars over the years to dozens of greyhound adoption groups.

If you wish to see this event continue, we encourage you to support the event by registering, even if you cannot attend.  The cost is modest but the benefit to greyhounds is great.   Rehistration is not tax deductible if you attend.  However if you could not attend for some reason, the donation should be eligible as a tax deduction.  Check with your tax advisor to be sure.

Individuals not registered can't hear our speakers or seminars scheduled throughout our weekend.  They will not be able to attend our beer and biscuit mixer on Friday evening.  They will also not be protected by our group Dewey Beach dog license for Greyhounds Reach the Beach and could risk receiving a citation when in Dewey Beach unless they buy a comparatively expensive individual dog license for each dog directly from the town of Dewey Beach.

* We have again worked out an arrangement with the Town of Dewey Beach regarding dog licenses for all our registrants in 2017.
